Crispy Oven Fries
Oven fries are the perfect easy and inexpensive side to add to most meals! I've been making them for years. My sister-in-law, Katelynn, made these WAY BETTER for me when she came over for a BBQ recently. She brought her version and I just had to add her secret to mine! Her secret: Breadcrumbs. Breadcrumbs help to coat the potatoes and make them a little more crispy. These are completely vegan friendly, by the way! Let me know if you're making any of these recipes by tagging me on facebook (@Sarah Elizabeth) or on instagram (@lifewithsarahdavis) ! :)

Keywords: Potatoes, Fries, Oven Fries, Vegan
Ingredients:
- 1 large sweet potato
- 2 large russet potatoes (or 4 small)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1. Preheat oven to 425 F.
2. Cut your potatoes in half lengthwise, then cut into small wedges about 1/4-1/2 inch thick. Place potatoes into large bowl of water and soak for 10-15 minutes. This helps to get some of the starch off the potatoes which allows them to get a crispy crust.
3. Drain your potatoes and place on a baking sheet. Add olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic. Toss with your hands or tongs to coat the potatoes evenly.
4. Put your potatoes into an even layer and sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the top.
Here's what they should look like before the oven.
5. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes. Flip with a spatula or 2 forks, then bake for another 20 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
Notes:
1. If you want EXTRA crispy fries, turn on the broiler for 1-2 minutes after the 40 minutes of baking. WATCH CAREFULLY!!!!
